Damian Marley headlined one of the first of the UK's

             urban festivals for Summer 2019.

 

         

                 The Grammy award-winning reggae artist performed at the end

                  of the three-day The Ends Festival in Croydon, south London.

                  He performed some of his own music and finished with tribute

                  performances of his father Bob Marley's biggest hits.

                 The Ends Festival showcased a range of reggae, urban pop,

                 reggaeton, Afrobeats and pan. 

 

 

Earlier in the day, Colombian

reggaeton singer J Balvin 

injected some Latin flavour

into the event. 

 

 

He excited the crowd with a strange mix of background dancers which kept the audience's cameras busy.

 

His show climaxed with his international hit Mi Gente.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 It wasn't all a northern Caribbean event.

Trinidad-inspired steel orchestra Endurance added to the sunny atmosphere with a performance in the Future Stage area.

Founded in 2009, the steel orchestra has become known for its performances at Notting Hill Carnival, the Lord Mayor's Show and the London Marathon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saturday had seen an afternoon of

modern African dance music.

 

 

Performances included Wizkid, Maleek Berry and Nande Coal.
